Lili a small and curious puppy had a front seat to the whirlwind romance between Elise and Chuck. Nothing could prepare her for the delightful twists and turns that their love would bring.

Let me share the love story of Elise and Chuck a story of laughter, dreams and the pitter patter of furry paws.

It wasn’t a storybook start but it was uniquely perfect for them.. It all started with a swipe. Neither Elise or Chuck had put much faith in using a dating app but fate had other plans. Nothing could prepare them both for the twists and turns that love would bring.

When Elise recounts their first meeting at the courthouse it is like a scene out of a romantic comedy. Where the initial joke of them meeting in the courthouse was born. The couple jokingly says while Chuck was filing a restraining order her saw Elise who happened to be there fighting a parking ticket and their eyes met and was born. Both parties joke that when their eyes met across the courtroom they knew it was meant to be. the day they first met vividly. Elise remembers proposing to meet at the courthouse. This is initially where they both joke that they couple met at the courthouse while Elise was finalizing her divorce, and Chuck was filing a restraining order. The first time I heard Elise recount their first date at the courthouse you could tell it was almost like a scene out of a romantic comedy. I often observed Elise chuckling recounting their meeting at the courthouse in Mason. Where their initially joke of Chuck getting a restraining order and Elise finalizing a divorce was born Chuck can recall how he arrived early, figeted on the courthouse steps while mentally going over his list of things to talk about. When he first me her he first noticed her curly hair and bright smile. From the anxiety of first introductions to the excitement of their first date. in the air while both introduced themselves to The first date was a mixture of laughter, sharing stories and new found connection. Elise chatted on and on throughout the date. When Chuck offered the occasional shy response the conversations gradually led into the night hours and they really began to get know one another. Their journey continued trips to Ludington, MI where they explored sand dunes, rode the trails and created memories that would last for a lifetime. During these trips Elise learned Chuck takes photos of everything and Chuck learned Elise is a bit camera shy. Chuck made sure to take care of Elise the whole time and that’s the first time Elise thought this maybe the one. One quirky detail Chuck learned on the trips is Elise tended to be a stickler for rules and always made sure we were not late for check out. She would nervously keep watch out the window for the cleaning crew to arrive. Chuck with his more relaxed view on rules found himself starting to walk the line. Their playful teasing about check out time became a nice reminder of their differences and the harmony they found balancing each other out. As the relationship blossomed into adventures on their first boat, and making it thru the global pandemic helped strengthen their bond. Elise and Chucks love story was not always about lromantic gestures and adventures it is also about the small and everyday moments. For example Elise’s ability to always watch out for chuck in the smallest ways. Chuck with his creative mind and adventurous spirit often was lost in the excitement of their escapades occasionally causing him to forget the essentials Elise ever organized and thoughtful partner seemed to have an uncanny ability to anticipate chucks forgetfulness and would always seem to have what chucks forgotten in her hand and at the ready to rescue chuck from any inconvenience Adventures of a new home, transforming their fixer upper into their first home together. Love and Laughter and renovation With each wall that was torn down, hammer strike, became a symbol of their teamwork and building a life together The proposal tugged at the heartstrings and was captured on video by Charlee. Now as Lili observes them planning their future she knows the love story that started as a swipe, a meeting at the courthouse to heartfelt letters and shared dreams it shows their love and companionship. As they embark on their next chapter together with Charlee in college, prissy in tow, Lili remains a loyal witness and furry reminder of the love that binds them no matter the challenge
